RIPON CITY SCHOOLS-
SCHOOL Sign Up Snafu
So you have found the perfect home, and it is right in the same neighborhood as the top rated elementary school in Ripon.
You are over-joyed with the idea of your children being able to attend a school that has earned a “9” rating on the Great Schools website, in addition to being a California Distinguished School. Life could’t be more perfect! You get your kids all excited about their new school. You tell them how they will be able to ride their bicycles to school, or how you will walk with them on sunny days. You take them on the weekends to play on the playground. They are totally sold on the new house based on the excitement you have helped to build about their new school.
You get the house and you head over to the Ripon Unified School District office. It’s time to sign up your children for their new school, or at least the school you naturally thought they would attend, being that you just live a couple of blocks away. After all, the Realtor had told (misled) you into thinking how convenient it was to buy a home right near the elementary school. And then you discover that the new city you just moved to does not use conventional neighborhood boundary lines. That the home you just chose because it was so close to the school, really doesn’t benefit you at all. You are now going to be driving your family 7 minutes across town to attend a different school.
Do I need to share with you how disappointed you, your spouse, and the children are?
When you hire a Realtor from the Jennifer Duron Group, we will help to ensure that you are informed of the current school district policies and boundary lines. It is important when you have school aged children to make informed decisions, and your Real Estate Agent should know about the area. We pride ourselves on making certain you will know that there are 5 elementary schools, and that they go from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. That 2 of the schools have a TK program, which is a Transitional Kindergarten class for the kids who aren’t old enough (Age 5 between September 2nd and December 2nd) to go to kindergarten. We know that our city has an awesome private school, as well, which educates children from Pre-school level through 12th Grade. Also, that Ripon High School is our only public comprehensive high school, and that Harvest High School is our continuation high school. (See RiponUSD.net for more information, or call 209.599.2131)
What our Realtors will share with you is that based on our experiences with the schools, our kids have loved the small town feel that each of the schools have. The teachers are very involved with the students, the community, and many of them have their own children attending within the district.
