Colony Oak is one of the five elementary schools in the Ripon Unified School District, and is home to some of the best students and staff in the city. Named a California Distinguished School, Colony Oak provides a great learning environment for children from kindergarten to 8th grade. The school offers multiple activities all year long for the community, such as the Harvest Carnival in October and Family Science Night. Colony Oak has a five-star rating on greatschools.org and is rated an 8 out of 10 for test scores, above state average in both math and english.
As well as being a great school academically, Colony Oak has sports teams available to 7th and 8th grade students. The school offers volleyball, basketball, and softball for girls, basketball for boys, in addition to a co-ed soccer team. The teams compete with other schools in the RUSD. Colony Oak also has a student leadership team available to 8th graders, and a peer helping team. The Ripon Unified School District offers a band program for 6th through 8th grade students, and also at Ripon High School for grades 9 to 12.
Colony Oak is surrounded by almond orchards and has basketball courts, a volleyball court, and two play structures for the children. The Ripon Unified School District offers school bus transportation to and from school, as well as offering after school programs like Stone Soup. With all these options, students are made to feel welcome and learn their strengths here at Colony Oak.
